About

Yahweh is compassionate & gracious, slow to anger, & abounding in steadfast love & faithfulness.

My Basic Beliefs & Guiding Thoughts

God is the Father & Creator of all. Whether His children are faithful or rebellious, He always works for the good of others, because He is love.

Jesus is the Christ – the (unique) Son of God. He took on flesh in solidarity with humanity in order to complete Creation as the first true human, & in order to bring that humanity up into participation & communion with the Godhead.

The Holy Spirit is the immanent, yet transcendent, presence of God within Creation. She gives life & breath to all. She is the source of all wisdom & empowers humanity to embody God & His goodness in the world.

Humanity (Man & Woman) is created to be the physical presence of God in the world – the closest experience we will have with God in this world is through our neighbor, & the most free we are is when we are fulfilling this purpose.

Because of the world we are born into & the world we create through our own actions, we must actively discern & choose the Good. This occurs through Christ – the Word; the perfect representation of the Father – & through the Holy Spirit, Who corrects, guides, & applies what we see in Him to our own lives. This process frees us from our slavery to sin, which is failing to achieve the purpose for which we were created because of our short-sighted lack of perception.

This process occurs both individually & collectively, as the Church gathers to remind itself of Who God is in order to imitate Him more perfectly, which has been made possible through the life, death, & resurrection of Christ.

The Church is called to share this good news with those who are still alienated from God – to quote Andrew Remington Rillera:

“Look at Jesus! God is not your enemy! You are the ones at enmity with God. God is justifying you even though you are ungodly. God has put forth Jesus as a conciliatory votive gift of peace & reconciliation to demonstrate this. Be reconciled to God! God loves you! If God did not spare God’s own Son, then nothing can separate you from the love of God revealed & manifested in Jesus Christ. Jesus eternally stands in the presence of God (like votive gifts stand in temples) interceding for us all.”

 (Romans 4:5, 5:5-11, 8:31-39, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Colossians 1:20-22)

God’s will is for all to experience union with Him, & He will accomplish this purpose in the end.
